Google's Website Optimizer Tool PDF Print E-mail
Written by Blog SEO

You can now sign up for Beta accounts of Google Website Optimizer. Google's new tool allows you to track performance of your landing pages, i.e. those pages that users reach when they click on AdWords links.

Although I have a lot of experience with landing pages optimization, I have never used one for my own ventures, but I can appreciate the value of this free tool.

I think that if nothing else, Google Website Optimizer can save lots of time and give a nice at-a-glance perspective of your marketing campaign.

Tailrank 2.0 is Out PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 17 October 2006
I love Tailrank and find it convenient to track the latest Blogosphere buzz via Google Reader. Today I was pleasantly surprised that Tailrank launched a new version 2.0.

The greatest addition, in my opinion, is the "archive" feature that allows users to track what bloggers were talking about in the past rather than right now.

Surprisingly, Tailrank is not only a one-year-old company, it is also a tiny one. Made up of only founder Kevin Burton and four part-time contributors, it has launched past its competitors, TechMeme and Megite.

In the past, Blog SEO has experienced some reasonable Tailrank-sent traffic whenever I blogged about a popular issue or and event. I am not quite sure how the ranking algorithm works, but it would be worthwhile to find out, especially since every feature is counted as a backlink. Currently Tailrank has almost 250,000 blogs indexed.

How quickly things change, especially when it comes to a link request. Remember those?

Ask Announces Mobile Search PDF Print E-mail

Ask is on the ball with the release of new Ask.com Mobile. I was surprised to hear the news just now because i was expecting it after the most recent redesign, which was quite a while ago.

The news comes from the Ask Blog:

Today we are announcing Ask.com Mobile—a brand-new service specifically designed for searching the web from your phone. Finally, your small screen and cramped keyboard won’t slow you down anymore.

You’ll also find mobile-optimized Smart Answers and Zoom Related Search within our mobile web search results to help you find exactly what you are looking for as quickly and easily as possible. We’ve even made room for our popular Image Search, Weather and Area Code Lookup, Currency Conversion, Horoscopes, Time Zones, not to mention (ok, I just did) a link to Bloglines Mobile.

I'm curious to see what Bloglines Mobile looks like on a Mobile Device and assume it must be pretty cool. After all, Bloglines is probably the best RSS reader for a mobile device that I know of.

Yahoo! Weather Report - Rankings Update PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 11 October 2006
imageAs was expected and probably anticipated, the first Yahoo! Weather Report of the fall season is here. Index is being updated. Nothing too exciting here. As always rankings are being shuffled and pages updated.

I've recently gotten into a habit of using Yahoo! Site Explorer to explore all of my sites and get some highly welcomed statistics. In the past, I've written a few articles while playing around with Site Explorer.

1. Yahoo! Webmaster Queries
Yahoo! Webmaster Queries Now Point to Site Explorer.

2. Official launch of Site Explorer
Site Explorer can give a good idea of where you or your competitors currently stand in Yahoo! database. Using this information you might be able to see what your competitors are doing to get a higher SERPs position if you utilize the data properly.
